Quirk #1 Although I don't think of myself as a fullfledged redneck, I did grow up in Montana in the days when germs were not at the top of our list of daily concerns. I grew up licking the top of the Hersheys syrup bottle(or can as it was in those days.) You know that little dribble that stays on the edge after you're done pouring it on your ice cream. Doesn't everyone just lick it off? I couldn't figure out why other people had dried up chocolate on their syrup cans. It wasn't untill after I was married and Troy pointed out to me that "it was grose" that I realized not everyone did it. I have learned to control myself and I now wipe it with my finger and then lick my finger. Heaven forbid I should just leave all that precious chocolate there to dry up, or even worse wash it down the sink. But I have to admit that the urge is still there and I do catch myself on occasion bringing the chocolate bottle up to my mouth, and then I realize and remind myself that It's grose to lick the syrup bottle.
Quirk #2 Less than favorable left hand side. For starters, I don't hear very well out of my left ear. Then, I was born with a catarac in my left eye which never allowed the retina to develop, so, other that a tiny little sliver of vision far over to my left side which is really just a distraction rather than actual vision, I am blind in that eye. That lack of vision is partially to blame for the missing fingers on my left hand (the rest of the blame is just stupidity for not unpluging the saw) I thought my hand was in one place when in fact it was in another and because I couldn't see it I didn't realize. Hence, the funky handprint. Needless to say, my right side is definately my "good side"!
Quirk #3 I can recite the ABC's backwards, and I can do it fairly fast I must boast. I learned it in grade school. I was told it would help when looking things up in alphabetical order ,but I have to say that I have never used it for that. I am amazed that I still remember it. zyxwvu....
Quirk #4 I love to pick. Zits, bumps, scabs, it doesn't matter. I drives my kids nuts when I try to pick at them. Troy calls me a monkey. I think it's just a mother thing.
Quirk #5 I like to be toutching Troy when I sleep. I don't have to lay right next to him all night, or cuddle, although I like that too, I just need to be within arms reach so I can put my hand on his arm or toutch his back. It's just comforting to know he is there. I think it is more sweet than a quirk, but when I asked what my quirks were this one was on the list.
Quirk #6 I don't know, there is no explanation for this one, you just have to see it.
Oh My Golly Gee Whizz!! LMBOOOOO! Who knew you were sooooo talented! I was smart I didn't actually write about my real quirks,..fraid I'd be locked up!! LMBOOO!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT! You're a total wacko Amy, and I love ya. The video was the best, and I have to keep watching it over and over, and I laugh every time (partly because it's funny what you're doing, and partly just because it's funny that you actually videoed yourself doing it). By the way, sometimes I still sneak a drink straight from the carton of milk. Is that grosser than licking the chocolate syrup?
ReplyDeleteHi Amy, I miss your wackiness, and I appreciate that you always put up with mine! Hope you guys are all doing great! It's fun to read your blog and see what you're up to.
